The German Shorthair is a GREAT Family Pet!

The German Shorthair is energetic, smart and willing to please his family, and he likes children. He is loyal and protective, and willing to please, especially if one is carrying a leash, car keys, Frisbee or other toys.

These are people oriented dogs, not happy if isolated from their family, but he needs enough exercise to be a settled family companion, so walks and plenty of play are in order.
